LAKES OF ŠTIAVNICA
Počúvadlo lake
The largest and also the closest lake, which is located within a 10-minute walk from our log cabins. A beautiful educational trail runs along the lake. There are several restaurants available here. Lake Počúvadlo is popular in every season. In the summer, it's mainly swimming or paddleboarding, while in winter, it's hockey, skating, or ice bathing.
Windšachta
The lake is located a 10-minute drive from the log cabins in the village of Štiavnické Bane. It is very popular for swimming, fishing, and paddleboarding. During the winter season, people regularly ice skate and play hockey there.
Bakomi
The lake is tucked away amidst the forests of the Štiavnica Mountains. It is situated above Windšachta and offers a quiet spot for swimming, relaxation, and a leisurely walk in nature.
Evička
The lake is situated next to Windšachta. It is smaller and ideal for a quiet summer swim, as it is not among the most popular spots.
Klinger
Klinger is located on the route from Banská Štiavnica to Horná Roveň. A hiking trail leads there directly from the center of Banská Štiavnica, and you can reach it in about 30 minutes. It is a very popular spot for swimming during the summer season.
Ottergrund
Ottergrund is the smallest yet highest-situated lake. You can reach it by car via Červená Studňa and then continue along a hiking trail, or walk there directly from the center of Banská Štiavnica. It offers a beautiful view of the Banská Štiavnica skyline.
Richňava
The Richňava lakes consist of a pair of historic water reservoirs. They are an ideal spot for summer swimming. There is a parking area right next to the reservoir.
Veľká Vodárenská
A popular reservoir for people walking here from the town center. You can also reach it from the Červená studňa parking lot. This lake is known for its azure water.
Beliansky tajch
It is located very close to the town of Banská Štiavnica. You can walk there directly from the Calvary. The lake is used year-round—for swimming in the summer and ice skating in the winter.
Červená studňa
It is a junction of various paths, and parking is available. From here, you can access routes to Vodárenská, Ottergrund, Rosniarky, and other hiking trails. Night skating events are often held here during the winter season.
